Tax Time

Tax Day is quickly approaching. The IRS started accepting tax returns on January 27th, and by the April 15th federal deadline, the agency expects to receive more than 140 million individual tax returns. If you wait until the last minute, you will also be the last to receive your refund (should you be owed one). Here is an estimated 2025 layout of when you could expect a federal refund based on your filing date in March:

  • File by March 10: Estimated Deposit March 31
  • File by March 17: Estimated Deposit April 7
  • File by March 24: Estimated Deposit April 14
  • File by March 31: Estimated Deposit April 21

You can also use the “Where is my Refund?” tool from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to track a refund once you have filed your taxes. Remember that filing electronically and requesting a direct deposit will speed up your process. Need a bridge as you wait for your refund?
